On the morning of November 16, China-UAE Economic, Trade & Investment (Qingdao) Promotion Meeting 2018 opened in Qingdao. The meeting was organized by the Economic & Commercial Counselors Alliance in China (ECCAC), co-organized by Shibei District of Qingdao City, Risfond and Shandong Lianchuang Zhihui Education Group, and supported by the Qingdao Municipal People's Government and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in the Republic of China.

Currently China under heavy economic pressure is facing both opportunities and risks. How to achieve sustainable development under the "Belt and Road" initiative has become a problem to be faced and solved by every entrepreneur. Aiming at some existing problems and challenges, the meeting shared the current economic situation of the UAE, the UAE's investment needs and China's investment in the UAE. China's high-end business visit to the UAE was launched at the meeting.
In 2014, China became the UAE's largest trade partner with a trade volume of 54.8 billion U.S. dollars, and the total number of Chinese enterprises registered in the UAE topped 4,000, which became an important step in achieving "Belt and Road" initiative. Chinese President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to the UAE from July 19 to 20, 2018 and it was the second visit of a Chinese president to the UAE 29 years later. The visit was aimed to cement China-UAE ties and open a new page for the longstanding win-win cooperation between the two sides. As an important country along the "Belt and Road", the UAE has become increasingly tied to China in economic trade.
